Why San Antonio Families Trust Michael Ireland & Associates

    1. The first call is a conversation, not a sales pitch. We start by listening to what is actually happening in your family and what you are most worried about. Before we talk about strategy, we want to understand your goals, your children, and what a good outcome would look like for you. You will not be rushed, and you will not be pressured to sign anything before you have had time to think.
    2. We build cases the way you would want yours built. Michael Ireland’s reputation rests on meticulous preparation and in-depth research, the same approach he teaches the next generation of family lawyers as an adjunct professor at St. Mary’s here in San Antonio. We do not coast on the easy version of a case. We prepare for the version where the other side fights, because that is the version that protects you if it comes.
    3. You will know where your case stands. One of the most common reasons people leave a previous attorney is that they could never get a straight answer or a returned call. We keep you informed at every step, explain what is happening in plain language, and make sure you understand the decision points before they arrive, not after.
    4. We are built for cases that do not fit a template. San Antonio is a military city, and military divorce involving retirement and benefits is squarely within our experience, alongside complex property division, high-net-worth estates with business and retirement assets, and high-conflict custody. A Board Certification in Family Law and Fellowship in the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers exist precisely because some cases demand more than general practice.
    5. We commit to preparation, not to promises. No honest family lawyer can guarantee a result, and Texas rules do not allow it. What we can promise is that your case will be prepared thoroughly, argued by a specialist, and handled with the seriousness a family transition deserves. The center of every custody decision stays where it belongs: the best interests of your children.

What to Expect When You Call

Our consultation process is straightforward and built around three things you need before any decisions get made:

    • We listen first. Tell us what is happening. The short version is fine, and we will ask the questions that matter.
    • We explain what Texas law says. In plain English, with no lecture and no scare tactics. You should leave understanding your situation, not more confused by it.
    • We map the next step. You will leave the consultation with a clear sense of what comes next: filing, responding, gathering records, or pausing to think it through.

Wherever your case is handled, it is handled by experienced family law attorneys.
