Custody, support, enforcement, modification, protective-order, and other family-law matters can have different filing and venue rules depending on the facts, the children’s home state, and whether prior orders already exist. The courthouse listed for each office is the one nearest that office. Surrounding-county cases are not filed at the nearest office’s home courthouse simply because the office is nearby. Comal County cases are filed at the Comal County Courthouse, 150 N. Seguin Ave. Guadalupe, Hays, Travis, Victoria, and surrounding-county cases are filed in those counties’ own courts. We will confirm the correct county and courthouse for your situation when you call.
Either works. You are welcome at any of our offices in San Antonio, New Braunfels, and Victoria, and we also represent clients by video and phone when that is more practical. The choice is about what fits your schedule and comfort, not about the quality of representation.
Often, yes. Texas courts may still have authority over parts of a case even when one party has moved, and there are specific rules for custody when parents live in different states. These questions turn on facts, timelines, children’s residence history, and any existing court orders.
Yes. Hays County is included in the I-35 corridor service area because it sits between the New Braunfels and Austin/Travis markets. Hays County cases are filed locally through Hays County’s courts, not through Comal or Travis simply because those counties are nearby.
Bee County is included as an extended Coastal Bend reach from the Victoria office. Bee County cases are handled through Bee County’s own district-court system and district clerk, not through the Victoria County district-court group.
